Dr. Indi's Doctor of Philosophy Degree is in Organizational Leadership and focused her research on career and leadership development and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the entertainment industry. Her dissertation, entitled, "Leadership Self-Efficacy of African American Women Leaders and Entrepreneurs in the Entertainment Industry" focused on 107 African American women corporate leaders and entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry. Dr. Indi conducted the quantitative study to examine the leadership self-efficacy of African American women who work in leadership roles in the entertainment industry and how their mentorship experiences may have contributed to their confidence levels as leaders. The findings showed that mentorship was not the determining fact in the leadership self-efficacy of the African American women leaders and entrepreneurs in the study. The results also showed that among African American women leaders and entrepreneurs in the study who had a mentor, the quality of their mentoring experiences, positively effected their leadership self-efficacy. Additionally, the results showed that among African American women leaders and entrepreneurs in the study who had a mentor, the level of satisfaction they experience positively effected their leadership self-efficacy. Dr. Ind's goal is to grow ELA into a premier leadership development organization for artists and entertainment professionals while also being at the forefront of leadership development research in the entertainment industry. |
